• Backstory

  Chapter I
  Ever since he was a child, Roland was interested to walk in his parents' and siblings' shoes and become a mage, too. More exactly, ever since his mother had been cursed, Roland had been eager to study as much as he can magic, so one day he'd eventually be able to reverse the spell. The entity which cursed her is just as mysterious as the spell put on the lady, as not even the most adept mages were capable of breaking the curse.
  
  He was 8 at the time, and even though he might have been too young to understand what happened to her, Roland was still marked by the absence of his mother, just as the rest of his family. His father, Vaegon, desperate to find a cure for the curse, spend hours at night, studying different potions and elixirs that would set free the love his life. His mastery of alchemy wasn't efficient, and he died at a young age, due to a miscalculated proportion of a dangerous ingridient when Roland was 15.
  
  
  He learned about shadows, creatures that feed off people's negative emotions and sins. He learned that the thing that cursed his mother is a shadow, and he was determined to set off on a journey, in the searching of information, anything, anything about shadows, anything that could help him fight back and be victorious.
  
  Chapter II
  He's travelling now, and although he might not look as badass as the hunters, he has one thing that makes him just as capable : his magic and his will to succeed.However, during his travels, in order to become a better mage, Roland joined a guild that went by the name of " Dragon Scale".
  
  What happens when somebody unsuitable is put in a really important position?Will they evolve into somebody worthy of their authority, or sucumb into madness and turn into reckless rulers? Sadly, Roland had experienced the answer first hand, and it was not something pleasant at all. He was at the start of a really long journey, being an apprentice light mage has its own ups and downs, but membership in the "Dragon scale" mage guild made sure he had far more bigger problems than accidentally blowing his room up. He made many friendships, some of those guys which he met, marked him for life, of course, that's true in more than one way.
  
  He shared a room with Blaze and Tempestra, a fire mage and a storm one, respectively. He had never felt as close to a a group of friends as he did then. They did everything together, and thus whenever an incantation of the school magic of fire or storm passes his ears' gentle hearing, the light wizard can't help but grin at the flashback of his memories with these lads.The missions he had with them, not only helped him become a more stronger priest, perhaps, but they were long-lasting memories, that he would surely remember in his elderly years.The shadows growing weaker, as he finally learned the spell, able to weaken them and purify them, and let them know light has come and they were no welcome, the spells needed to heal and protect his friends and allies, there would have been perfect harmony .. he even accepted being the third wheel between Blaze and Tempestra... if only...
  If only the leader wasn't a blood-thirsty tyrant.
  Belathor, the leader of the guild and of the fire magic department, and senior undersecretary of the High Council, had a burning hatred for any and all wizards who opposed his beliefs, those wizards who used necromancy and the arts he thought were against his morals, and esspecially those who didn't belong into any guilds.Tempestra, his dear friend, Cal, was really close to a rogue wizard, their friendship had roots deep within their childhood, they seemed to not lose interest in one another in adulthood, either, like most do.That was their first mistake, as Belathor had a hatred for a necromancers like Cal, and urged to kill Cal in an misunderstood situation, thus Tempestra was left heart-broken over her friend's death and resigned from her position, which led Tempestra being put on the list, too. Needlessly to say, after a month or so, she was killed. That left, in turn,Elliot hearbroken, too.As revenge, Blaze tried to challenge him in a duel,going against Roland's pleadings, but lost and was ultimately slaughtered.
  That determined the priest to go to the High Council and aid their support, Belathor's actions went against the sacred records of wizardry, and was ultimately sacked of his position as the leader of the "Dragon Scale" clan,however that led to its end, as there was no other mage willing to take over a guild that had been tainted with blood, and Roland was not considered "experienced" enough to take over as leader of... of basically anything.
  
  "Hear me, fire mage, you've crossed all lines of morality, you've given no sign of any humanity within you.Your position might have saved you from prison, but hear me out : the world knows what you did, and will always remember, it doesn't need fancy documents to keep track of the lives you've taken.You might think of my legacy as of a joke, as a force too weak to take on the threats of this world, but I swear to you, killer, I will rip you from your high throne and render this realm with one less tirant. I believed in you, yet you only took things away from me.Double cross me again and you'll learn to fear me.".

• Light magic

  Light magic is not for the offensive, at least, it's not for those who think violence is the response to anything. Those who wish to master this school of magic need to be aware about that. Light magic is not about destruction, it's about keeping up with the shadows, light can be disappointed that the darkness is already there, but that doesn't mean it can't fight back! Light wizards, otherwhise called priests, use the power of the sun, moon , stars and spirit, to defeat the shadows, demons, anything related to the shadows, defendthose threatened by them, and heal those hurt by them. Elliot is no exception, he learned his very first light spells during his stay at the guild.He's not a grandmaster, he's still far from being a magus, but that doesn't mean there are no tricks under his sleeve.
  
  Offense : He can defend himself with lightballs and arrows enchanted with light magic and can use some other elements to some extent.He will eventually learn stronger spells as I guess will roleplay with him.
  Defense : Roland can put up shields to protect himself from average threats and also can use a few spells to crowd control the enemy(e.g. freeze them for a couple of seconds with light... yeah.. I thought it was a good move. well.. whatever) and weaken some of their spells.
  Support: Roland can heal really well, he has a good chunk of alchemy recipes stored in his head, also he can buff other's weapons and powers against dark creatures.
  
  Note :Each light spell is attached to either : sun, moon, star or spirit. Some sun spells are powerful during the day, but really weak or without effect in the dark.The same things go for some moon or star spells.Spirit light spells work the same during the night as they do during the day. They are really costly though because they leave the caster in pain.
  
  If he or she gets a blessing from a spirit, they turn into priests.
